SUBSonik was an hour-long weekly podcast presented by Dave Hamer and Matt Lee bringing you the best new music coming out of Staffordshire and Cheshire.
It all came to an end in October 2009 and this is the reason why:-
We've spent more than 12 years playing in bands, going to gigs, supporting the scene around Stoke, Staffs and Cheshire. Over the last 4 years that’s also been in the guise of either BBC SUBCulture and SUBSonik.
We don’t have the time, and finances to continue ‘Sonik as we want to, and the thing is we wanna spend the time we do have hanging out and making our own music, actually contributing to the very scene we’ve been backing.
In that last 4 years, we’ve met some amazing people and made some new friends who will be mates for life. If you’ve ever played a session for us, sent us a tune, invited us to a gig, bought us a beer, or generally appreciated the show – big love and thanks goes out to you. It’s been a blast, but as they say all good things must come to an end.
